Richard has Locked-in syndrome and uses his eyes to control and make music. Here we are trialling an online in-browser Roland TR808 drum machine. These online drum machines are free and can be accessed via Eyecontrol - the most successful one we have tried so far is Drumbit (https://drumbit.app). However we wanted to explore other (out of DAW's) stand alone machines and specifically the Roland series. This was the most Eyegaze user friendly we trialled. Richard found it accessible because he was able to reach the functions using Eye control without having to a) use hold and drag (for rotary controls) b) change the screen size repeatedly to access different parts of the drum machine c) having the full interface laid out in front and not having to scroll down the screen and d) being able to save and download to use in other programs. The drum machine being demo'd here is the https://roland50.studio/ which was the most accessible and Richard programmed the online 808 whilst I toyed with the online 303 and synced them both up together. The other ones which were not as accessible were the ER 909 (yes not an 808 but still...) and the https://io808.com/ - which was impossible to move the rotary to select the instruments. Note the therapy dog that makes an entrance! https://lnkd.in/e8X85TmC. hashtag#eyegaze hashtag#inbrowser hashtag#accessiblemusicsoftware hashtag#lockedinsyndrome hashtag#roland808 hashtag#therapydog
